Profile
Greetings, fellow walkers, talkers and supporters nationwide,
Gaz Williams and I are pleased to announce that we are taking over the leadership at the Oswestry Group, following in the footsteps of Troy Smith and David Smith, who shaped MWAT’s presence in Oswestry and the surrounding areas for the past two years.
Having attended since day one, Gaz and I have seen the group start from a small collective of seven like-minded Oswestrian chaps to becoming one of the largest groups under the banner of Men Walking & Talking, with our largest attendance figure being around 25. Yes, 25 gentlemen who sought friendships, camaraderie and, above all, an opportunity to share their stories in a positive setting.
Our walks vary in location each week. Sometimes it will just be a stroll around the houses; other weeks may see us trek into the countryside of the Welsh Borderlands. We go everywhere and anywhere, come rain or shine. We’ve also represented Oswestry at the nationwide joint-walks with other areas – an initiative we hope to do more of moving forward! Below is Gaz accepting donated water from Sainsbury’s for a walk in January.
Although the leadership has changed, we will continue to meet on Red Square, every Thursday night at 19:00 hours. As the dark nights approach, please keep your eyes peeled for the chaps in high-vizs, donning MWAT’s banner.
