Profile
Hi, my name is David and I am the Walk Leader for Sandbach.
I am 36 years old, happily married, and a proud father of two children. My journey began at the age of 16 when I enlisted in the army, a dream I had long pursued. I dedicated myself to becoming the best soldier I could be. Unfortunately, my military career was abruptly halted due to a snowboarding accident during a training trip, leading to a medical discharge. However, my experiences as a soldier instilled in me invaluable qualities such as resilience, teamwork, brotherhood, empathy, grit, and strength.
Over the years, I have explored various career paths. As family life began to unfold, I joined Bentley Motors, where I quickly ascended the ranks due to my hard work and eagerness to learn. Although I progressed well at Bentley, I found myself lacking challenge and motivation, ultimately leading to a sense of complacency. By 2023, I made the decision to take redundancy from Bentley and redirected my focus toward obtaining my personal training and strength and conditioning coaching qualifications.
My passion for helping others has reignited, and I am committed to supporting individuals in discovering their best selves. I am fortunate to have two wonderful children conceived through IVF, who mean the world to me. However, the financial burden of providing for my family has been overwhelming. As time passed, debt began to accumulate, exacerbated by poor financial decisions. In seeking support, I connected with a group of men who helped alleviate some of the pressure and provided clarity in my situation. While I still face significant debt, I am tackling these challenges on my own terms.
For some time, I have aspired to create a supportive community, and discovering the “Men Walking and Talking” group felt perfect. I believe this initiative is vital for fostering stronger social connections and enhancing self-worth within our communities.
This invitation is open to every man. Join us for a walk—let’s talk and listen to one another.
Thank you, Dave.
