Hi, my name is Mark and I am the Walk Leader for Minehead MWAT.
I’m currently 60 and have had a varied career involving high stress sales and also 23 years as a uniformed Police Constable (medically retired). Over this time, I developed significant anxiety and at times, severe depression. During this time I unfortunately had four male Police Officers take their own ives in just over a year, including my own Sergeant and and a good friend. The biggest lesson I’ve learnt is that men don’t talk about themselves.
I’ve survived and am now in a much better place, but want to assist others in recovering, too. When I saw the Men Walking and Talking Facebook page, I immediately felt this was something I could do. I love walking and it would be fair to say, I’m a bit of a chatter. I look forward to helping others.

Sorry, unable to load the Maps API.
Sorry, I didn’t make it last Monday, I did go to the meet point tonight but nobody else seemed to be at the square, so came home, most likely due to the Bank Holiday.
Hi Mark,
I’m interested in joining the group. Do I just turn up and where and when.
Many thanks
Jim
